When choosing a camp, please select the grade level just completed in the 2023-24 school year. Camps are open to students currently enrolled at Green Vale as well as incoming students joining in the Fall, with the exception of Pre-Nursery students.

Payments for registration prior to May 10, can be a check, made payable to Green Vale School, or can be billed to your Green Vale house account.
Payments for registration starting May 11, must be a check only.

Color Theory Camps are all about creativity! Kids use their imaginations while using a wide variety of materials and completing different projects per camp day! Our comprehensive art curriculum is always new and exciting, your child will never do the same thing twice! Our camps are structured for both learning and fun!

Over three days, this camp will combine some of the most creative camp themes: Imagine It! Create It!, Build, Mold, Sculpt!, and So You Think You Can Craft?! Artists will use paint on paper, air dry clay, and an array of sculpture materials, as well as the traditional art materials to create projects that are 2D, 3D, and crafty!

In this super fun 3-day camp your student will use Cubelets to find the perfect 'robot recipe' to solve challenges. They will work in small teams to figure out how to create lighthouses and racer bots. They will learn about science and engineering by using their talents to create fun STEAM-focused projects like slime and spin art. We will explore the screen-free worlds of Pokemon, Minecraft, and Mario Brothers.

Come kick off summer time at Paint ‘N Play! Each day we will create a special art project such as decorating beach balls, making pinwheels, creating sand art, and painting butterflies. In addition to art projects, we will also spend a lot of time outdoors— taking advantage of Green Vale’s beautiful campus! We will play various fun games outside, play on the soccer field, go on the playground, or explore with a nature walk. At the end of the day we will cool down with a tasty snack and an exciting story. Grab your paintbrushes and lace up those sneakers— you won’t want to miss out on this summer time fun!

This camp will stretch the imagination while building fine motor skills. The campers will enjoy a wonderful story; sparking interest and appreciation in “everyday” moments. Campers will create personalized treasure boxes filled with items that bring them joy. Each day another treasure will be added to their Magical boxes.

PK - K: STEAM with Ms. Metzger

The summer months can be steamy but this camps' focus is on being "STEAMy". Your children will be involved in activities focused on these areas of study: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. The campers will be using and honing skills of organization, observation, deduction, reasoning, justifying, counting, measuring, comparing, recording, writing and communicating (just to name a few) all while being creative, moving and having fun! Each day, weather permitting, the campers will have a chance to cool off , to let off some STEAM, in kiddie pools just outside my classroom.

Ever wonder why things happen in an experiment? What causes a raisin to dance? Or why does pepper run from soap? In this hands-on experimental 3 hours you will learn just that and MORE. Each day we will complete 2 experiments, and you won't just be watching the experiment. You'll be doing the experiment. These fun, easy and ready to recreate at home experiments will leave your little scientists wanting more!

1 - 3: Boys and Girls Dance Camp with Ms. Coles

This class will teach the fundamentals of dance, the basics of beginner gymnastics, and an introduction to movement composition & improvisation. Your campers will be exposed to various forms and styles of dance including tap, hip hop, musical theater, modern, jazz, and some ballet. They will also get an introduction to some forms of World Dance: African dance, the Hawaiian Hula, Irish Step Dance, Salsa and Flamenco to name a few.

CURRENT 6-8: Leadership Camp hosted by Mr. Kotula

Student-Volunteers

Grades: 6-8
If you have already completed the Student-Leadership Camp during a previous summer at Green Vale, you are eligible to volunteer at our summer camps!

We have two weeks of camps:
Week 1 (June 12-14): This camp is for outside vendors and I do not need many, so you may not be chosen/K-5.
Week 2 (June 17, 18, 20, 21): These are teacher-run camps/Pre Nursery - 5th Grade. (We are closed on 6/19.)

Please indicate which camps you are interested in, and again, you need to be available all the days of the camps.

All volunteers will receive a community service letter acknowledging their volunteer hours. You must be available for all 4 days. You will need to arrive at 8:45 to help the teachers set up and with camper arrival. Your pick up time is 12:15 in order to help teachers clean up and with dismissal.

Please choose the grade/age you prefer. We will try our best to place you in your preferred grade/age, but may need to put you where you are needed.

CURRENT 6-8: Leadership Camp hosted by Mr. Kotula

Grades: 6-8
Cost: $175
How do students gain the skills and techniques to become an effective leader? They partake in Student Leadership for an experience that will last a lifetime!

Students in this program will be exposed to a variety of leadership building strategies through group discussions, problem-solving exercises, and group activities. The course will run concurrently with the camp volunteer program, as the students will attend ninety minutes of leadership building strategies in the classroom and then will be immersed in ninety minutes of volunteering as assistants in the variety of other camps taking place on campus. The intention behind this structure is to allow students to learn leadership skills and then act upon them immediately.

The program will focus on a variety of topics appropriate for middle school students including individuality, effective conflict resolution techniques and personal responsibility. We will also discuss what leadership and stepping up really looks like when working with young children, as this will define the majority of their volunteer experience that week. Students will also research and discuss contemporary examples of young leaders making a difference on the local, national or global level.

Please note: Students will earn a certificate for this camp which will allow them to return and volunteer for Green Vale camps in the future. In order to earn a certificate, students must attend camp for the full four days.

* This is a one-time camp. If your child has already completed this program they do not have to take it again. Upon completion, they are able to volunteer at Green Vale.

Cancellation Policy

There is no charge for withdrawal before May 24
Withdrawals between May 25 and June 1 will be refunded 50%
Withdrawals after June 5 are not eligible for refund.
Withdrawals for medical reasons will be considered on a case by case basis.
Camps may be canceled by Green Vale should an enrollment minimum not be satisfied, at which time the option to switch to another camp or a full refund will be given. Decisions will be made May 27.
